Twin Robots: Ultimate Edition is a platform-based puzzle game in which you use two robots to solve environmental puzzles and share energy to power the exit door.
General Gameplay
The general gameplay is very simple, run, jump and switch on switches to get your buddy robot to the end of the level without dying. The Game Visuals are very sharp and easy to see on the screen. The robots that you play as look very animated and easy to tell on screen as well the backgrounds and other objects in the game. The game levels are in a darker tone to show off the factory settings that the robots are in, however the colors, objects and everything else is easy to see on the screen. The game design is very family friendly in nature and that the colors even thought dark at time can still be seen on the screen. In our playtesting, we did not run into anything that would be offensive to any younger gamer, again the game is very family friendly. The Audio for Twin Robots is very well done. The game has a great soundtrack that is not to overpowering when playing and feels right when playing on any level. The sounds effects and backgrounds match what is going on in the game. The game is in 5.1 surround sound and also sounds well in 2.0 stereo sound. In our playtesting we did not encounter anything that would be offensive to any younger gamers. The Controls for Twin Robots are very easy to control and play. The game was made more designed as a platformer in which you have your jump button, power up the door, move objects, and also switch on the fly to the other robot. In our playtesting we did not run into any issues with the controls settings and should be fine playing the game with the standard controller.
“Twin Robots: Ultimate Edition is a great game for families to play as the puzzles are not too hard or easy but just right to have full enjoyment from the game.”
Family Friendly
When it comes to a balance of puzzle/platform games there has a be a near perfect balance so the player can best enjoy both the game and not worry about failing a puzzle because of bad control. Twin Robots: Ultimate Edition does this right. One of the first things that we notice from playing the game was that how non-platformer gamers were able to get into the game without any trouble and figure out the first several puzzles without any issues. This is a great thing as when parents and children play the game with each other the controller and control setting will not be an issue. I do have to admit the later levels can offer some challenge but with some thought process, fast reflexes and you will be fine. In our office we were concern about the controls and platforming mixed with puzzle solving for some younger gamers but after seeing gamers as young as 6 years old play the game without any issues, we realized that this is a great overall family friendly game for all. Another great feature of this game is that the game can be played both locally on one screen or even online. This adds more dynamic as two different people can control each robot and solve more of the harder puzzles. In our special needs game testing, we did not encounter any issues with the Game Visuals, Audio, or Controls. The game is a very approachable for all ages and fun to play. The only complaint that we had was from more seasoned platform/puzzle fans that felt that the game was too easy for them to play, so if you have a more seasoned puzzle/platformer gamer in your gaming family this may be too easy of a title for them. We do recommend this game for any parents that are looking for a great but easy puzzle game to play with their children.

Twin Robots: Ultimate Edition is a great fun platform/puzzle game for all ages. Some more experience gamers may find this easy to beat but overall a great family game to have in your digital library.
