Gravity Duck

Become a duck and hunt for treasure while controlling gravity in this 2D puzzle platform game.

General Gameplay

Overall the game is all about using gravity to get to the golden egg of each level.  The levels have obstacles and other objects that test your platforming and puzzle skills.  You can also use the gravity well to change the direction of your duck to move towards your goal.  The Game Visuals are very 8-bit in their visual presentation.  The game character, enemies and backgrounds are drawn where you can easily see them on the screen.  The game does not have a colorblind mode; however, it is not needed as most of the colors on the screen can be seen without any trouble. In our playtesting, we did not see anything offensive in the game for younger gamers and that the game is very family friendly. Audio in Gravity Duck is also in a 8-bit style with a lot of midi style of background music.  The game has its background music that fits the levels and design and the sounds effects are the same that fit the game.  The game is not in 5.1 surround sound, however the game sounds fine in a stereo setting.  In our playtesting, the sound and background music is fine for a game like this and there was noting offensive heard in the audio.  Controls in Gravity Duck are very simple.  The left thumb stick moves the character and there is a jump button to go to the opposite direction.  There are gravity flips around the level to help you get into the right direction.  The controller settings are simple enough for any type of gamer to pick up and play the game.  In our playtesting, we did not encounter any issues with the game controls or settings.  The game controller settings are very special needs gaming friendly.

“A fun and simple puzzle game where it can get challenging in later levels but a fun challenging.”

Family Friendly

One of the charming things about Gravity Duck is that the game is simple and fun to play.  If you fail the level, it does not punish you for failing but teaches you how to better get to the goal.  The game is very family friendly in its gameplay as it is more of thinking of how you will reach your goal vs. just being a puzzle game.  Now there are some platforming elements to the game, but there are more in avoiding the enemies on the level than anything else.  This is a great game for any fans of puzzle or platforming games.  The only complaint that we had was that some of the later levels can get harder but again there are over 140 levels in the game that span across 4 chapters.  In our special needs game testing, we did not find any issues with the game graphics, audio or even controller settings, if anything the game is very special needs gaming friendly.
