A busy week here at the office and this week we got to try two different games, one on the Xbox One and the other playing it on the Xbox One Game Pass on the PC. Gears 5 continues pace with its great storytelling, fantastic multiplayer and player vs. enemy gameplay. With new multiplayer modes, Horde, and the new Escape mode, there is a lot of gaming to do here for any Gears fan. Another game this week we tested is Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night. A side scoller action RPG that is like the Castlevania: SOTN series. The game offers a Metrovania style of gameplay where you hunt monsters, gain loot and explore. A surprise is that you can play with another gamer in this great game. The best part of both games are that they are available now for free on the Xbox One Game Pass.
When Gears 5 became available on the Xbox One Game Pass, everyone here at the office went nuts and could not wait to get it installed and start playing the game. The game story continues the quest to find out what is Kait and her connection with the reemergence of the Locus. The game takes a new turn with more exploration of the Gears universe. Also a nice change is the game modes to both multiplayer and player vs enemy modes. New Escape mode alone is just worth the price of admission to play with friends. Gears 5 is a fantastic game and the best part is that if you have the Xbox One Game Pass it is free! Yes, free for game pass members. I always loved the Castlevania series since I was a child back on the original NES days and seeing one of the producer Koji Igarashi working on this was something that caught out interest. Being a 2.5D style game where you go from level to level, fighting off monsters and collecting loot and upgrading your character. One of the best things is that for fans of Castlevania: SOTN this is the closest to getting an new game from the series creator. A must play game for any fans of the Castlevania series or any metrovania gamers out there. Bloodstain: Ritual of the Night is a great game.
