As we are getting into the “gaming season” with almost a dozen new games coming out before the holiday season, we have our hands still full with review codes and dozens upon dozens of titles to review. Fortunately, we had a chance to review two good games that are fun for the family to play. The first one is Clash Force. Clash Force is a 2D side scroller action, platform shooter where you take on the evil Crankman and his forces. A true 8-bit shooter for those that love games like this. Another game was from the successful Midnight series of action golf. In Birthday of Midnight, you play as the fairy to get to the goal in each level. With over 70 levels, Birthday of Midnight is a great sequel to the Midnight series.
One of the fondest memories for most of old timers here at the office is waking up on a Saturday morning running to the kitchen to get a bowl of cereal then running to our television sets to watch Saturday morning cartoons, then firing up our NES and playing shooters till we had other plans. Man, those were the days…lol Well in Clash Force you get to somewhat live out your days of the old school shooters. Like games like Contra, Clash Force is an old school 8-bit shooter where you choose from one of three playable characters, take on levels and finally a boss at the end of the level. A decent shooter that are looking for an easy, casual shooter to play. Be sure to check out our review of Clash Force and watch some game play footage below of the game in motion.
The Midnight series of action golf games are a great game to have to pass the time. What is there not to love about the series, simple game play, controls, fantastic piano soundtrack and best of all, the games are all relaxing. So, when we got our hands-on Birthday of Midnight, we were excited about reviewing the game. The old saying still applies here, “if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it!” With over 70 levels, different challenges, and just overall casual fun, this is a game that should not be missed and a must have for your digital library.
