General Gameplay
Overall Bird Game + is a rail-based flight game where you take control of a bird in flight, and go through the levels avoiding obstacles, other insects and a boss battle at the end of the level. The Game Visuals are designed in an ink and paper style where the game is in black and white. If anything, the game looks like a child’s drawing that came to life and being displayed for us to see in motion. The graphics are design enough where you can all objects in the game from lily pads, to trees, branches, insects and other objects that would see in a game like this. As the game is only in black and white, there is no other color changing settings expect a dark mode where the game colors are inverted. In our playtest, we did not see any issues with the game’s graphics. The Audio for Bird Game + is a mixture of sounds that you would hear in a forest from the insects sounds to wind and other animals that would be in that environment. The game does have background music that is decent and accompanies the game, but it is just there to be more filler than anything else. Controls in Bird Game + are very simple, the left thumb stick controls flight of the bird, where the left and right trigger buttons control the barrel rolls to towards those directions, there is a button to pick up objects and another to fly more freely right or left. The controls are simple enough to pick up and play the game without any problems. In our playtesting, we did not encounter any issues with the game itself. All our gamers in our testing group were able to play the game without any trouble. As the game was played on the default controller, there is no need for a special controller to play the game.

This was in interesting talk and playtest in our office as we had some agreements and disagreements about Bird Game +. On one hand Bird Game + is a simple, fun game that is easy for everyone to pick up and play. The game has a boss battles and an endless mode where you see how long you can fly before being defeated. The other hand that is all that the game has. The game can get boring quick and that because the game is all about a rail based flying game that there is nothing more to do in the game. To be honest it is all about what type of gamers do you have in your gaming family. If you have gamers that love simple rail based flying games, then they will enjoy this game, if not then they will get really bored with the game. One of the beauties of this game is that the visual presentation of the game itself. It looks like a child’s drawing coming to life on the screen and it’s a joy to see in motion. In our special needs game testing, we did not have any issues with the game graphics, audio, or controls.
Closing
Bird Game + is a fun flying game for those that love flying games in your gaming family, however with short levels and not enough modes of game play, there is only a limited amount of game play there. We would only recommend this game for fans of a game series like this.
