With E3 and our gaming family graduating this week it has been a very busy week here for us at the office. With so much news, releases coming up and new games in the future, gaming has a great fall 2019 and 2020 coming up. So, we decided to try and successfully squeeze in two game reviews of games that came across our desk. Back in 1995 a retro survival/horror game in which you must find your missing daughter and figure out what is going on in the city as you try to survive. Another title is 20XX, A “Mega Man” style of action/platformer where you go against enemy robots, sub and level bosses in this rouge like game.
Back in 1995 is an old school style of survival/horror style of game in which you must figure out what happened to your daughter disappearance in a city that has been overwritten by monsters. The game is supposed to be a throwback of the PlayStation One days of games like Silent Hill, Resident Evil, and other survival horror type of games from the mid 90’s era. We had a chance to try this out and, in our playtesting,, we had some concerns. Some like the old school appeal of the game and controls where other newer gamers did not as much. Be sure to check out our review of Back in 1995 and see for yourself.
20XX another “Mega Man” style of action platformer shooter was another game that was on our desk and was just being asked to be tested. The gameplay is still the game as the series, you a robot going to theme specific stages, to fight off enemy robots, mid bosses and a level boss however there is a twist to the game, permadeath. Now before you think that this will be a bad game to play it is not, if anything it is a really fun game for all fans of action/platformers. One of the many things about 20XX is that any permeant powers up obtained can be used for multiple playthroughs. The game has a rough like style of random level design, as well over 100 power ups in the game. Again take our word for it and check out our review of 20XX and see why this is a great game for your digital library.
As always be sure to check your console digital store for Back in 1995 (Xbox One, PlayStation 4) and 20XX (Xbox One, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, PC) both that are available now. Be sure to download these games and give it a try!
