Live your life one shot at a time in this classic battle of toy tanks.
General Gameplay
Attack of the Toy Tanks is a 2D tank based game where you take on other AI or another player in a tank to see who can destroy the others tank first. With 60 levels of different challenges, weapons and obstacles to overcome, it is all about the skills to survive.
Attack of the Toy Tanks is the classic formula of toy tanks and defeating your opponent in the toy battlefield. The game offers both single player and player vs. player gameplay on the same screen. The Game Visuals are very colorful and bright. The game does a good job mimicking the look and feel of an animated toy blocks and toy box feel. The graphics are sharp and easy to see on the screen. If anything, the game visual presentation is very child like and very family friendly. The game does not support a colorblind mode, however as the colors on screen are very bright and vivid it is not needed. In our playthrough, we did not see anything that would be offensive to younger gamers in the game visuals. Audio in the game is very basic but fits the action on the screen. There is tank sounds from movement, and firing sounds like a toy tank would make. There is background music and fits the game and the action going on well. The game does not have any spoken dialog so there are no worries about any language in the game. In our playthrough of the game, we did not hear anything that would be offensive in the game for younger gamers, if anything the game is very family friendly. The Controls for Attack of Toy Tanks are very interesting, and therefore. As the game is a game where you control a tank, there are “tank like” controls where you move the tank with one thumb stick and move the turret with another. Now the game has where the left shoulder button as well the left trigger to move the tank, however you can change it to the alternative mode. In our playthrough we have some concerns about the controller settings, but we will go over this in our Family Friendly section. The game uses the standard control so there is no need for a special controller to play the game.
“A simple, but fun tank game where it is even more fun playing against someone. Where the game shines is the 60 challenge levels where it tests your skills against the environment and AI controlled tanks.”
Family Friendly
One of the interesting things that came up while reviewing the game was from older gamers. The game reminded them of the original Combat from the Atari 2600 days. Now this is not a bad thing as I myself loved the game when I was a child. Attack of the Toy Tanks recreated this and goes a lot further. The simplistic style allows any age gamer to play the game without any issues. The game is just fun when playing against another gamer but is challenging enough for those that want to take on the 60 levels against the AI. The only concern that we had was the controls for the game. As most gamers are not used to the controls, it took a while for some of our gamers to get used to the controller settings. The game offers a different controller set to use and that is fine and all, but we recommend gamers that are going to play to try out both controller settings and see which one works best for them. The only downsize to the game is that outside of the player vs. player and the challenge levels, there is nothing else to do in the game. Also, there is no online mode as well. In our special needs game testing, outside of the controls there was noting that we found with the game graphics, or audio. The game is rated E10 but we felt during testing that the game should have received a E – For Everyone rating. Again we recommend to watch gameplay video of the game and best the best choice for your gaming family.

Attack of the Toy Tanks is a fun player vs. player game and offers a great challenge mode for those looking for it. A great local couch game for those looking for a simple shooter.
