General Gameplay
Sisters Royale: Five Sisters Under Fire is a top down shooter where you pick one of the five sisters, go through each level and fight a mid-boss fight battle and the boss at the end of each level. There are several levels to go through before getting to the final boss. The game can be categorized as light bullet hell shooter, but more general shooter from what we have seen. The Game Visuals for Sisters Royale: Five Sisters Under Fire are very colorful and easy to see on the screen. The game uses bright and vivid colors to showcase the game, from the characters, to the enemies, backgrounds and even boss battles. As the game is a story driven game, the characters (sisters) are detailed in anime style of graphics. The game overall presentation is in a japan anime style so for those that are fans of the japanime style will be right at home with Sisters Royale: Five Sisters Under Fire. The game does not offer a colorblind mode, however the games colors are all very easy to see. As the game is presented in a top-down style, the game is centered on the middle of the screen, while the rest of the game is wallpapered with the character that you are using as well how much life, bombs, and score is shown on the left of the screen. In our play testing, we did not encounter any problems with the game graphics, expect on smaller screens where the game was a little harder to see, so we recommend playing the game on a larger screen. Audio for Sisters Royale: Five Sisters Under Fire is very anime-ish in its presentation. Yes as it is a shooter you would hear the expected sounds like weapons fire, enemies sounds, objects and other sound effects that you would expect from a shooter. The game is presented in 5.1 surround sound and it sounds fantastic in this sound setting, however if you are playing in a 2.0 stereo setting that is fine as well. The game has no spoken audio as the game story is told via text bubbles. The background music also fits well into the game levels. The tracks used in the game are well suited for the action for each level and work well to give the game a shooter sound and feel. In our play testing, we did not find anything offensive to any gamer when it comes to the sound in Sisters Royale: Five Sisters Under Fire. Controls for Sisters Royale: Five Sisters Under Fire are extremely easy to use. The left thumb stick is to move the character and there are three buttons, one used for the primary weapon, one for the special and another to use the bomb to take out enemies. The controls are very easy to use and any type of gamer can easily pick up and play the game without any trouble. As the game is a shooter in its design the controller settings are created well for the game like this. In our play testing, we did not encounter any problems with the game controller settings. As the game is a console type of shooter, the standard controller is fine to use and play for the game.

As most are aware that shooters in the gaming market are a dime a dozen. Some are great iconic shooters that stand the test of time, where others are known from their brutal difficulty and only the most die hard SHMUP shooters fans will only play, well Sisters Royale: Five Sisters Under Fire is one of those shooters that sits in the middle of this. One of the unique things that Sisters Royale: Five Sisters Under Fire did was have a system called TBS (Tension Bonus System) this system rewards gamers that take risks and get close to the enemy by rewarding them with more points and coins in the game. Now this is a cool system and adds more of a “risk for reward” type of gameplay element to the game itself. In the game also are secret fairies are hidden in each level that give an additional point, so for those that want to rank higher on the leaderboards and want to get a higher score this too will help. Overall the game is a casual shooter that allows unlimited continues for newer gamers to keep playing. For a casual gamer, they can complete the story mode for each sister with 20-40 minutes based on skill but still it is a great way for newer shooter gamers to get into the game and enjoy it. The characters in the game are fun to play as and each one has their style of using their abilities, so there is a sister for different gamers to try out and play as, and you can experiment with different sisters to play as to play the game. The boss battles are full of lots of bullets that come towards you but not overly difficult to avoid and defeat each boss, as long you study each pattern then you will do well. As the game does show some of the sisters in more scantily clothing, the game may be more suited for older gamers that are ages 12 and older. If you or anyone in your gamer family likes shooters, then Sisters Royale: Five Sisters Under Fire will be a great game to have in your digital library. The only complaint that we have for the game is that it may be to easy for some shooter fans and also that it is harder to see all of the action on a smaller screen. In our special needs game testing, we did not encounter any issues with the game graphics, audio or controls, the game is very special needs gaming friendly.
NOTE: For gamers playing on the Xbox One console, the game upon installation will ask permission to have access to your gamer profile, friends list and so on. The reason for this is that the game was converted for the Xbox One consoles using the UMP (Universal Windows Platform) framework. Some gamers will not feel comfortable allowing a game or developer to be given permission for this data. You can say no and still play the game but it does disable the abilities to upload to the leaderboards as well achievements, so it will be up to you to decide to allow permission. They claim is that they do not sell or use your information outside of reason of the UWP but again any questions should be directed to Microsoft Customer Service and the developer.

With a fun story, different characters and a casual shooter Sisters Royale: Five Sisters Under Fire is a great game for your digital library for anyone that is a shooter fan. Hardcore shooter fans may find this game too easy but still a great casual shooter.
