I and Me is a puzzle/platform game in which you take control of two black cats and must match them up with a floating frame to finish the level. The game is about solving the puzzles but jumping and avoiding obstructions to get the cats to the boxes.
General Gameplay
In this charming game, you play as two black cats that are trying to reach a floating frame, so they can match up and move onto the next level. The game is a puzzle solving game on how to reach the floating frames mixed with some platforming as well. Game Visuals for I and Me are very colorful. It has more of an watercolor style with very vibrant colors and design. From the main design of the cats to the background, objects and other animals are very vibrant and with more of a children’s book in its design. Everything in the game can be easily be seen both on the Nintendo Switch game screen and on a Smart TV. There is no colorblind mode, but it is not needed as the colors, graphics and objects are very easy to see and identify via the colors. In our playtesting, we did not run into any graphical issues and the game was very family friendly. I and Me Audio is a beautiful collection of a mellow piano blend that is a very complimenting to the game itself. The game mellow soundtrack makes the game very relaxing to play and enjoy by all, if anything this is one of the strongest points on why to play the game. The in-game sound effects match what is going on in the story from the basic interaction sounds to the cat’s meow everything fits well and sounds very clear. I and Me does not have any spoken dialog so there is no spoken audio to be heard. In our playtesting we did not hear anything that was offensive, and the game is very family friendly, however a special note that a lot of our special needs gamers loved the soundtrack and found it to be very pleasing to hear as well relaxing (More on this in our family friendly section). The Controls for I and Me are very easy to use. The game was designed around it to be very easy to pick up and play and this is the case here. With the left thumb stick to move the cats, jump button and a button for actions the controls are very easy to use. In our playtesting the controller setup is very easy for our gaming family during our playtesting to pick up and play the game. One interesting note is that when playing I and Me that you can play it comfortably both on the Nintendo Switch and on a regular Smart TV as well.
“An outstanding soundtrack with great controls, visuals and puzzles. I and Me is a must have game for any families that own a Nintendo Switch”
Family Friendly
First off, if you have a Nintendo Switch this is a must have game for your digital library. Not only is a family friendly game but it is a decent puzzle game! What makes I and Me such a fun game is that the puzzles seem fresh and not to frustrating. It does not mean that you will figure out each puzzle each time around, but it will make you retry the level just, so you can get it right. Also, the music blend of a mellow piano playing with light ambient music is a perfect setting for the game. Controls for I and Me are also done well as it is designed to be easy for anyone to pick up and play the game. This makes it easier for parents to better enjoy the game with children and vice versa. In our special needs game testing, all our gamers loved playing the game. They felt that there was enough challenge to keep them busy in the game and that the gameplay did not get boring for them at all. I and Me is all around a great family-oriented game. Since the Nintendo Switch launch, the Switch was lacking a fun, casual puzzle game that is all rounded and I and Me fits that void. We highly recommend this digital title. The only compliant that we have is that some of the later puzzles do get more challenging, however with lots of trial and practice it is something that was a minor issue.
Closing
With great puzzles, platforming, controls, graphics and music, I and Me is a great overall fun game to have for your Nintendo Switch.
