3 out of 10: Season One

Take on the role of Midge and the other cast of characters in a game development studio in this episodic game where you go through the anticks of the staff as they try to release a video game.  3 out of 10: Season One is like playing a game based on a sitcom that’s based on the video game industry.

General Gameplay

3 out of 10: Season One is a collection of mini games wrapped into 5 episodes of the story that tells about the developers making a new game and all of the chaos that comes in an office environment with different personalities. The game consists of 5 episodes which include its own little story to give insight to the main story.  The Game Visuals are done in colorful way to showcase the characters, the game in the game, and the background.  The game colors are vast and colorful to see.  The level of detail of the characters and backgrounds are well done and look very animated in the design.  Bright colors are used to show the game animation and as the game does now offer a colorblind mode, it is not needed to show the graphics and colors in 3 out of 10: Season One.  In our playtesting, we did not encounter any issues with the graphic or the setting for the game visuals.  Audio in 3 out of 10: Season One is told via spoken audio via the cast in the game.  As the game is a sitcom in the style of its presentation there is some dialog that is more in this fashion.  Think of like watching a rated TV-PG television show.  The background audio also fits well in each setting from the cut scenes to minigames.  The game is presented in both 5.1 surround sound as well in 2.0 stereo sounds and both environments the game sounds fantastic.  As the game is rated T – For Teen, there is some language but not enough to ruin the game for any gamers under the age of 13, again parents, we recommend watching gameplay footage to see for yourself on this.  Controls in 3 out of 10: Season One are very simple.  The left thumb stick is used to move the character around as there is a interact button to talk and interact with the characters and backgrounds.  As different mini games come about in each episode, the buttons get assigned to the tasks in that mini game.  So, the controller settings are quite easy for all settings and easy to use.  The mini games controls are also very easy to use and explained what they do for each mini game. In our play testing we did not encounter any issues with the controller settings in 3 out of 10: Season One.  As the game is on both the console and PC, using a standard controller on the console and a keyboard/mouse setup is fine and the game does not need a special controller to play.

“A fun game with a great cast of voice overs, mini games that are fun and all to make fun of the industry that is video games and developers.  A must have game for any gamers that love comedies or just a fun good storyline.”

Family Friendly

One of the things that makes 3 out of 10: Season One a fun game is that how diverse the game is.  Yes the game is broken down to five episodes and each episode is different from the others, but the story stays fresh throughout the game.   As the game progresses you are set into different mini games to earn stars towards reaching goals for the episode from racing to get interns back to colleges, to getting chai to the engineers.  3 out of 10: Season One does a great job of making this not get stale in the game.  The voice acting in the game is top notch and bring the game to life.  This also is a great thing as the game makes fun of the video game industry and the satire that the game portrays are the things going on in the industry.  The game is meant for gamers that love sit coms and a good story, and this is one of the many reasons why this is such a great game for your digital library.  The comedy is fresh in the game and those that have been gaming for years will get the humor in this game.  Terrible Posture Games Inc. has done a fantastic job of taking this type of humor and creating a great game.  There are so many great things that we can say about this game but honestly you must play this game and enjoy the humor and the mini games for yourself. Now touching on the audio, as the game is rated T – For Teen, there is some minor language but not enough to detour for you or other gamers in your gaming family to play the game. The only complaint that we had was that some of the mini games can get challenging and can cause you to restart the mini game to get a better score, outside of this, which is a minor complaint, but it does not take away from the gameplay or the story.  In our special needs game testing, we did not encounter any issues with the game visuals, audio, or controls.  The game is very special needs gaming friendly.

Closing

3 out of 10: Season One is a fantastic game that has great mini games, story, voice acting, and so much to offer.  The mini games and humor alone is worth to download and have this game in your digital library.  A must have game for any fans of funny games.
